Testing Joule agents before they act on Indian tax.
Joule agents are moving from suggesting to acting: proposing postings, processing invoices, preparing accruals. Before an agent acts on its own for your Indian company codes, you need to know how often its tax judgment is right.

Three kinds of Joule agent we test
| Agent type | Example | What we focus on |
|---|---|---|
| Standard SAP agents | SAP-delivered finance agents switched on in your landscape | How they handle Indian GST cases, with your configuration |
| Custom agents | Agents your team or a partner built on Joule Studio | Their tax logic, prompts and grounding for India |
| Partner agents | Industry or India-specific agents from SAP partners | Whether they are as India-ready as claimed |
Three ways to connect
Agent-to-agent connection (option A). Where your landscape allows outside agents to call Joule agents, our testing service sends each case and receives the agent's structured answer. Simplest and fastest. Subject to approval by your SAP and security teams.
Batch run by your team (option B). We send the synthetic documents and questions; your team runs them through the agent in a QA client and uploads the results. No outside connection needed.
Runner inside SAP BTP (option C). A small app in your BTP account holds the questions only, runs them locally and sends just the answers for marking. Zynoviq on SAP BTP.
What a Joule test looks for
- Correct judgment — credit, reverse charge, place of supply, time limits.
- Correct posting — tax code, account and amount for the company code.
- Honest uncertainty — does the agent hand hard cases to a person, or answer confidently anyway?
- Stability — does the same case get the same answer across runs and releases?
After an SAP or agent update
SAP releases, new agent versions and prompt changes can shift results. Re-test after each significant change, and after GST rule changes. Continuous evaluation.
If the test finds gaps
Most teams cannot retrain an SAP-delivered agent. The practical fixes are reference packs the agent can look up, adjustments to custom agents, and routing rules that send risky case types to a person. We supply the first and give you the evidence for the other two. Improvement data.
Testing Joule agents — FAQ
How do you connect to a Joule agent for testing?+
Three ways: an agent-to-agent connection where your landscape allows it, a batch run by your team in a QA client, or a questions-only runner in your SAP BTP account. Delivery options.
Can you test SAP-delivered agents we cannot change?+
Yes. The test shows where the agent fails; fixes then come from reference packs the agent can look up and routing rules that send risky case types to people.
Do you check whether the agent admits uncertainty?+
Yes. We report whether the agent hands genuinely hard cases to a person or answers them confidently anyway.
Should we re-test after an SAP release?+
Yes. SAP releases, new agent versions and prompt changes can all shift results, as can GST rule changes. Continuous evaluation.
Can you test a Joule Studio agent built by our implementation partner?+
Yes, with your approval and access to the agent in a test client.
