Audit: would a qualified auditor reach the same conclusion?
Audit teams, internal-audit functions and public auditors are adding AI to evidence review, sampling, controls testing and report drafting. An AI that reaches the wrong conclusion on a finding, or misses what a standard requires, does it quietly — and the conclusion carries a professional's signature.
What we plan to cover
| Area | Example judgment |
|---|---|
| Audit evidence | Is the evidence sufficient and appropriate for this assertion? |
| Audit reporting | Does this matter call for a modified opinion, an emphasis of matter, or neither? |
| CARO reporting | Which CARO 2020 clause does this fact trigger, and what must be reported? |
| Internal controls | Is this a control deficiency, and how serious is it? |
| Expense and payment checks | Does this payment comply with the stated rule or policy? |
| Public-sector audit | Does this transaction depart from the governing rule, and what is the finding? (with partners) |
Why it's a priority
Chartered Accountants are trained auditors. Of every domain on our roadmap, this one draws most directly on the professionals already in our network.
Audit is also moving to AI in the public sector. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has adopted an AI strategy framework that includes using AI in audit and auditing AI systems used by government departments. Firms and internal-audit teams are moving the same way.
Sources answers would rest on
The Standards on Auditing issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the audit provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, the Companies (Auditor's Report) Order, 2020, and — for public-sector cases, with partners — the auditing standards of the Comptroller and Auditor General. Every answer would carry its authority and a "valid as of" date. How answers are tied to evidence.

Boundaries
Synthetic engagements only — no real client files, ledgers or working papers. We test AI against standards; we do not audit, give opinions or provide assurance on any company or AI system. What we do and don't test.
Help shape it
Tell us which audit tasks your AI performs — early interest decides the first topics.
Professionals
Chartered Accountants with statutory and internal-audit practice, with senior auditors as adjudicators (calibrated as the domain opens).
Audit AI testing — FAQ
Can you test audit AI today?+
Not yet. Audit and assurance is a priority on our roadmap. Discuss a mission to shape the first test pack.
Will you audit our company or our AI?+
No. We would test AI against audit standards on synthetic engagements. We do not perform audits, issue audit opinions or sign reports, and our results are not an audit or assurance of your AI. What we do and don't test.
Who would certify the answers?+
Chartered Accountants with audit practice, with senior auditors as adjudicators, verified against their institute's register.
Why is audit a priority?+
Chartered Accountants are trained auditors, so this domain draws on the core of our network. Audit answers also rest on written standards that can be cited, so they can be certified, not just agreed.
